minimal style is essentially the most frugal style out there and is probably the best style for a day to day basis. It's kinda basic BUT if you learn to do it the CORRECT way, you'll find that minimal style is a lot less boring than you thought. The goal of having a minimal style is to be clean, neat, and look effortless...while being stylish of course. Without the extra patterns and crap, you have the oppurtunity to focus on the sillouette, cut, and the overall fit of every single piece in your outfit. YES, minimal outfits have details as well, including the contrast of textures within your outfit, working with tones and colors between each piece of your outfit, and obviously some fuego accessories. And also minimal styles usually have the aim to look aesthetic as hell. Wanna know how I style my minimal outfits? read along :).
You kinda wanna follow the same rule as the shirts, no loud patterns or crazy designs. But no crazy ripped jeans with huge holes, save it for your street style. Since you don't gotta worry about the pattern of your pants, try experimenting with the fit and also the texture of your pants.
To experiment with the fit of your pants, you gotta get out of your comfort zone. Don't stick with the same super skinny fit jeans all the time. HOWEVER, this doesn't mean to go out and buy the widest fit of pants you see at the store, it's gotta fit right for YOU. Basically if you can pull off the pants then go for it, if you can't stick to what looks best for you.
There's so much you can do with the texture of the pants, like wool, corduroy, and denim. Wool can give you more of that classy vibe if you're going to somewhere formal. Denim, we all know is the classic staple for the casual look. Now corduroy, gives off that unique vintage vibe that screams "stylish". Don't go crazy with color, keep it kinda neutral or as close as you can get.
You can't forget about the sneakers, these are the cherry on top for the fit. Unlike your top and your pants, you don't have to go the minimal route for the sneakers. Go all out on your sneakers, any pattern any design, just make sure they look nice you know.
But if you're going the minimal route, try to stick to the neutral tones of the sneakers. You know a good pair of all white air force 1's or some nice air max 97's will literally make your fit soo fresh. You could also add a little pop of color on your sneakers if you don't wanna be too boring, for example, a color on the swoosh of a nike sneaker.
But if you're really stylish, get some socks with some minimal design....like the simple nike swoosh tube socks. But don't go for any flamingo socks or the stance socks that you see all the skater people wear, I mean they're not ugly, but hey this is minimal style you're trying to rock.
